Development and Validation of Financial Literacy Skills for Disabled and Disadvantaged Students (FINLIT)

CONCEPT
In a survey conducted with AFI Members in 2020, 75% of the members identified financial education as the number one policy area, followed by 74% emphasizing consumer protection, and 70% highlighting financial literacy. The contribution of financial education is more valuable when individuals do not have access to affordable and relevant financial services.
OBJECTIVES
- To enhance the financial literacy skills and financial management and functional competencies of disadvantaged individuals (Roma, low-skilled, disabled students, etc.).
- To improve the self-esteem, confidence, motivation, and beliefs of the aforementioned student groups.
- To enhance school guidance to prevent them from leaving the potential labor market.
- To develop the knowledge, skills, and competencies that will guide and support teachers in the implementation of financial literacy education in schools.
PURPOSE
Development of a handbook and educational videos for disabled and disadvantaged students regarding financial literacy:
- Development of a Guidance toolkit for teachers on financial literacy curriculum.
- Production of an online portal for digital learning.
- Creation of supportive worksheets for individual financial management.
- Blended training for teachers in BG, ES, and TR.
- Blended training for disadvantaged students with learning difficulties in BG, ES, and TR.
